How long have you been doing this? Do you know your stuff?

I’ve been a portrait photographer for over a decade, and this work has been my full-time focus for many years.

I hold a degree in the arts and have spent thousands of hours continuing my education—not just in lighting and posing, but in body language, psychology, and how women experience being photographed.

Because this isn’t only about creating beautiful images.
It’s about helping you feel safe enough to exist fully in front of the camera.

Over the years, I’ve guided thousands of women—many of whom arrived nervous, unsure, or convinced they weren’t photogenic.

They left seeing themselves differently.

You will never be expected to know what to do.
Guiding you is my job. And it’s something I take very seriously.

How should I prepare for my photo shoot?

The most important thing to know is that you don’t need to arrive “perfect.” You’ll be guided through every step of the experience.

There are just a few simple things that help your images look their best:

Skin care
Please avoid trying anything new on your skin 2–3 weeks before your session. This includes facials, peels, Botox, dermatology treatments, or spray tans. Keeping your routine consistent helps your skin photograph naturally and comfortably.

Hair and makeup
Professional makeup artistry is included in most sessions. I recommend arriving with clean, dry hair. Many clients choose to schedule a blowout the day before or morning of their session for extra volume and ease. Light styling can also be added through our makeup artist if desired.

Nails
Clean, well-maintained nails photograph beautifully, especially in close-up images. Neutral tones, French manicures, or a natural buff work well with everything, though color is welcome if it reflects your personal style. Toenails may also be visible depending on your session.

The day before and morning of
Drink plenty of water, get good rest, and eat a nourishing meal before you arrive. You’ll have time to settle in, breathe, and ease into the experience.

You don’t need to know how to prepare perfectly.
That’s part of what we plan together.

Where will my shoot take place?

Most sessions take place in my private studio in a historic building on Tucson’s east/central side on 22nd and Camino Seco. The space is fully designed for comfort, privacy, and creative flexibility, allowing us to create a wide range of looks in one location.

Depending on your vision, sessions can also include outdoor or on-location elements that reflect your personality, environment, or work. This is especially common for branding sessions or when a meaningful location adds depth to the story we’re creating.

Your session location is chosen intentionally during the planning process, so the environment supports how you want to feel—and how you want to be represented.

Not Local? Not a Problem.

While Jessica Korff Studios is proudly based in Tucson, Arizona, many of our clients travel from across the country—and beyond—to work with us. Whether you’re flying in for a transformative boudoir session, leveling up your brand with intentional imagery, or joining one of our exclusive events, we’ve got you covered. From helping you plan travel-friendly shoot details to recommending places to stay, we make the experience seamless, personal, and worth every mile. Because powerful photos aren’t just about location—they’re about intention.

Do you have a style closet?

We have a limited style closet of actual dresses, skirts and lace coverups, as well as body chains and lingerie for boudoir sessions. We also have a large selection of satin, silk, chiffon, and taffeta drapings in which we create "on the spot" gowns that are styled and fit your body perfectly. See our Art of Her Blog posts for examples.

What is your Booking Process? How far ahead should I book my session?

Every session begins with a conversation. This gives us space to talk about what you’re hoping for, answer questions, and ensure the experience is aligned with what you need.

Because each session includes planning, shooting, and a same-day reveal and ordering appointment, I photograph a limited number of clients each month. Most clients reserve their date 6–8 weeks in advance, and booking about two months ahead is ideal if you have a specific deadline.

Sessions are typically held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at my Tucson studio, with additional dates occasionally available.

To reserve your session, a signed agreement and session fee are required. After booking, you’ll receive preparation guidance, planning support, and a clear roadmap so you feel fully ready and supported long before your session day arrives.

What is included in a shoot? and How much does a photo shoot cost?

Our typical portrait sessions are approximately 3 hours long (including makeup time), while our brand sessions can last anywhere from 4-6 hours depending on package type and need.  This usually looks like 3-4 outfits being comfortably fit in.

Our sessions start at $450 and go up from there. Many include makeup artistry, your Style & Concept planning appointment and same day ordering sessions for portrait clients.

Some clients may only select 5 images, while others may spend $10,000 or more. Most personal portrait clients spend around $3800 on their additional products and images. Our boudoir collections start at $1690 while our branding collections start at $2190

What is your shoot style and editing philosophy?

My work is guided by a bold, minimal, and timeless approach designed to keep the focus where it belongs—on you.

Every element, from posing to lighting to background, is chosen intentionally so nothing distracts from your presence, your strength, or your story.

Editing is done with the same philosophy. Images are refined to reflect how you naturally appear at your best—polished, but still unmistakably you. Temporary distractions like blemishes or irritation are softened, while permanent features like scars, freckles, and the details that make you uniquely yourself are honored.

The goal is never to change who you are, but to create photographs that reflect you with clarity, intention, and respect—so when you see them, you recognize yourself in a new way.

If you have specific concerns or requests, we can always discuss them together.

What should I wear/bring?

You don’t need to figure that out alone. Every session includes a dedicated planning appointment where we design your wardrobe, styling, and overall concept together so everything feels aligned with who you are and what you want to express.

For branding sessions, we often focus on clean, intentional pieces that reflect your personality and professionalism—solids, texture, and layering tend to photograph beautifully. Blazers, cardigans, and structured pieces can add versatility and presence, while jewelry can be either bold or minimal depending on your style.

For boudoir sessions, options may include lingerie, bodysuits, oversized sweaters, robes, personal pieces, or anything that makes you feel connected to yourself. Many clients bring a mix of structured and softer looks.

Most clients bring 3–5 options, and we refine selections together during your session.

You’ll receive detailed guidance after booking, and I’m always available to review options so you can arrive feeling fully prepared and confident.

When and how will I view my photos?

Longer brand sessions are often viewed together over zoom, approximately 7-10 days after your shoot.

For boudoir, micro brand, maternity and couples- you can expect to view those the same day as your session!

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Your session time is reserved exclusively for you, and both I and our professional makeup artist prepare specifically for your experience. Because of this, I ask for as much notice as possible if your schedule needs to change.

If you need to reschedule, please contact me as soon as you can. With at least 7 days’ notice, we are typically able to move your session without issue.

If illness or an unexpected emergency arises, your wellbeing always comes first—we will work together to find a new date.

Reschedules with less notice may require a $250 rescheduling fee, as that time has been reserved and preparation has already begun. This fee is waived once when sufficient notice is provided or in the case of illness or emergency.

My goal is always to ensure you have the experience fully—when you can arrive present, prepared, and able to enjoy it.

Will you be publishing my photos online?

Your privacy is completely respected.

Many clients choose to keep their images private, and you are never required to allow your photographs to be shared publicly. Your images will only be shared with your explicit written permission.

Some clients later decide they’d like to share their experience to support or inspire others—but that choice is always yours.

This is a deeply personal experience, and you remain fully in control of where your images live.

Can I share my photos online?

Absolutely! Clients sharing photos they love and giving us a little shout out is the absolute most common way for us to get new business, plus we love to gush on you too when you post! While, as I said, mentioning us is a huge compliment and amazing way to help our small business, we also never ever require that you mention or tag us in photos you post.

What printed products do you offer for personal portraiture?

Your images are meant to live beyond a screen.

We offer heirloom-quality albums and stunning wall art designed to preserve this chapter of your life in a tangible way. These pieces are handcrafted using archival materials so they will last for decades.

Albums allow you to hold your story in your hands—private, personal, and entirely yours. Wall art transforms your images into daily reminders of who you are and what you’ve stepped into.

During your private ordering appointment, you’ll see your images and explore product options together so you can choose what feels most meaningful to you. Digital images are also available.

What is the turnaround time on printed products?

You’ll see and select your images the same day as your session during your private ordering appointment.

Once your selections are finalized, most printed products arrive within 4–6 weeks, depending on the piece and production schedule. Each album and wall art piece is professionally handcrafted and inspected to ensure the highest quality.

Digital images are delivered shortly after your selections are complete.
