The Art
The Fire, The Strength & The Art of Women Rising.
Too many stories go untold.
Too many women go unvalidated.
Too many go uncelebrated.
Too many do not see their own beauty & power.
& too many women go their whole lives without being truly witnessed and seen.
I want to change that.
Hear the amazing stories about how this project affected so many amazing women.
I hope you will join us.
It's time to
Celebrate You & tell your story.

Join me to create yet another Artist's Visual Representation of your strength, your beauty and your story.
I'm doing a second (and last) round of photographing and telling the stories of 25 more Women and I would love for you to be one of them.

Alyssa M,

I didn't reach out to a photographer expecting such an awakening.
Jessica is a fantastic photographer and a wonderful human... Thank you for giving me the space and this venue for taking this step in my healing.

Because for all the things built to keep us small, we rise.
It's no secret that growing up female in our society comes with some great struggles. Most of which are learned or encountered at a young age.
From sexism, to high societal expectations, to perfectionism, to being shamed, to unrealistic body standards, to unrealistic motherhood standards, to the early adoption idea that girls have a certain "girl" behavior that is expected of them, even to it being her fault when a boy has no control over himself. There are many things out there that we face daily from such a young age.
And yet, for all the things built to keep us small, we rise.
We rise through adversity.
We rise through trauma.
We rise through abuse.
We rise to become mothers.
and business owners, despite the "stats".
and mothers while also being business owners... again, despite the stats.
and even empty nesters, creating a new business, all despite the stats.
We rise through all the self questioning, the imposter syndrome, the second guessing, the third guessing, and the opinions of those who will never understand,
and once again, for all the things built in this world to keep us small. We rise.
... and oh, when we do, it is truely a thing of beauty and art.
Even when we feel like it's a mess, it's beautiful, and elegant and powerful.
It's Art.
It's the Art of the woman.
It's the Art of becoming a woman.
It's the Art of Her.

I watched a video recently from someone I genuinely respect. Someone who talks about longevity, mobility, and feeling good in your body. Ninety-nine percent of what she said was exactly that. Rooted in taking care of yourself so you can live more fully.
And then came one line.
"For a body that feels better. And looks better."
Something in me went quiet when I heard it. Not in anger. More like recognition. Because this is how subtle the conditioning is. Even in spaces built around feeling good, the idea slips in that we have to look different to deserve the same pride, the same care, the same celebration.
It is automatic. It is expected. Most of us have been breathing it in so long we stopped noticing it was there.
That is the Script. And it is worth looking at directly.

It usually goes something like this.
A better body is a smaller body. A healthier body is a more attractive body. A worthy body is a changed body.
So even when the conversation shifts toward wellness and longevity, there is still this quiet hook underneath it. Do it so you will look better.
And what that hook keeps in place is the belief that the body you have right now is not acceptable. That it is a before. That your current reflection is something to push through rather than something to be in.
Your body is not a before. It is a lived story. Yours. And it is worthy of tenderness right now, not after it has earned it.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel stronger or sleep better or move through the world with more ease.
Those are honest desires and they matter.
But they do not need to be attached to looking different in order to be valid.
You can want more energy, more ease, more years, without needing your body to fit a standard before any of that counts.
Your reasons for caring for yourself do not have to be rooted in trying to become more visually acceptable. They can simply
be rooted in wanting more life.
This is the part most of us were never taught.
You do not have to wait for your body to change before you are allowed to appreciate it. You do not have to earn your own tenderness.
The body you are in right now, the one that has carried you through every hard season, every version of yourself, every moment you thought you would not get through, that body does not need to look different to deserve your care.
It is not a project. It is the home you have always lived in.

If you want to build strength, that is yours to create.
If you want to do nothing other than exist in the body you have right now, that is also yours to create. No one outside of you gets to decide whether your reflection is acceptable.
Your body belongs to you. What you do with it belongs to you.
What does not belong to you is the Script that says you are only worthy once you have changed enough.
That one was handed to you. You did not write it.
You are allowed to care for your body without punishing it for existing.
You are allowed to pursue feeling better without believing you have to look better to belong. You are allowed to set down the Script that made your worth conditional on your appearance.
That is not a fitness conversation.
That is The Undoing that happens when a woman finally stops treating herself like a problem she has not solved yet and starts being on her own side.
If you are ready for a space where that conversation is already happening, come into the Powerfully Her community on Facebook.
The permission is already there. So is the room.

If you take nothing else with you from this, take this:
Your body is allowed to be both a work in progress
and completely worthy right now.
You can pursue health from a place of care, not criticism.
From desire, not shame.
From love, not punishment.
And if the next generation is going to grow up with healthier relationships to their bodies,
it starts with us refusing to let “look better” be the measurement of value.
Let’s pursue wellness because we want more life —
not because we’re trying to earn our right to be seen.
Because, my friend, you are already deserving of that. You and your body are both deserving of care, desire, love, appreciation, compassion, gratitude and being seen and valued as you are. And if you are struggling to see that— please join me in our facebook group where you can begin to see it all differently, the conversations are different there… the permission is granted, the space created for the conversations and the allowance to be exactly as you are. And we would love to have you.

Most of what we’ve been taught about our bodies, our visibility, and our worth
was never written with our freedom in mind.
The rules.
The timelines.
The expectations.
The quiet pressure to be smaller, softer, easier to swallow.
This is where we start burning the script.
If you’re ready to unlearn the stories that told you who you should be —
and begin choosing who you actually are — there are a few places to keep going.
You can step into the Facebook community, where we’re actively rewriting the rules around body, sensuality, and self-permission together.
You can take the archetype quiz to uncover which part of you is rising —
the one that’s ready to stop performing and start living.
Or, if you feel the pull to mark this moment — to see yourself reflected back without the old rules attached — you can explore booking a session when it feels aligned.
There is no wrong way to do this.
Just the moment you decide you’re done following a script you never agreed to.
