Because for all the things built to keep us small, we rise.

It's no secret that growing up female in our society comes with some great struggles. Most of which are learned or encountered at a young age.

From sexism, to high societal expectations, to perfectionism, to being shamed, to unrealistic body standards, to unrealistic motherhood standards, to the early adoption idea that girls have a certain "girl" behavior that is expected of them, even to it being her fault when a boy has no control over himself. There are many things out there that we face daily from such a young age.

And yet, for all the things built to keep us small, we rise.

We rise through adversity.

We rise through trauma.

We rise through abuse.

We rise to become mothers.

and business owners, despite the "stats".

and mothers while also being business owners... again, despite the stats.

and even empty nesters, creating a new business, all despite the stats.

We rise through all the self questioning, the imposter syndrome, the second guessing, the third guessing, and the opinions of those who will never understand,

and once again, for all the things built in this world to keep us small. We rise.

... and oh, when we do, it is truely a thing of beauty and art.

Even when we feel like it's a mess, it's beautiful, and elegant and powerful.

It's Art.

It's the Art of the woman.

It's the Art of becoming a woman.

It's the Art of Her.

Interview with Tahnee Wilson, of The Broken Circle Soap Co

Jessica: Tell us about your business, what do you do?

Tahnee: I make all natural, luxury bath and body products.

Jessica: What do you love most about what you do?

Tahnee: I get to help people with their skin issues and teach them about the holistic side of bath and body products

Jessica: What is a Myth about your industry? Can you debunk it?

Tahnee: A common myth about the skincare industry is that “all-natural products aren’t as effective as synthetic ones.” This belief often leads people to think they have to choose between clean ingredients and real results.

I can debunk this myth by pointing to the effectiveness of my products, which are specifically crafted to address issues like sensitive skin, eczema, dry lips, and cracked heels. My 90+ 5-star reviews and best-sellers like my foot balm and foot scrub bars are proof that thoughtfully sourced, earth-based ingredients can provide lasting results. Unlike synthetic products that often offer quick fixes with harsh chemicals, my formulas nourish, heal, and support the skin’s natural balance, proving that clean beauty can be both luxurious and powerful.

Jessica: What is one thing you wish everyone knew, before working with you?

Tahnee: That my journey to creating The Broken Circle Soap Co. is deeply personal and rooted in resilience and healing. Im not just making all-natural bath and body products—Im crafting tools for self-care and restoration because I've lived through the kind of stress and trauma that makes those moments of mindfulness essential.

My passion for helping others break cycles—whether it’s with synthetic skincare or the generational weight they carry—comes from a genuine place of wanting to heal, not just outwardly but inwardly. When people work with me, they’re not just supporting a business—they’re connecting with someone who truly understands the value of care, balance, and choosing joy, even after the hardest of times.

Jessica: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Tahnee: Something that might surprise you about me is that before I started The Broken Circle Soap Co., I worked as a respiratory therapist in the ICU throughout the pandemic. It was one of the hardest periods of my life—witnessing so much loss, working through extreme short staffing, and carrying the weight of it all eventually led to anxiety and PTSD.

Leaving that field and starting this business was a deeply personal decision. It wasn’t just about making soaps and skincare; it was about finding healing for myself and creating something that could help others heal, too. Turning my pain into purpose has been a transformative journey, and it’s why I’m so passionate about what I do.

Jessica: Describe your perfect holiday experience.

Tahnee: My perfect holiday experience would be all about balance—finding time to recharge, connect with my loved ones, and nurture my own well-being.

I’d start my day slow and intentionally, with a warm cup of herbal tea and maybe a long, relaxing bath using one of my favorite soaps. I’d give myself space to just be—maybe journaling, meditating, or simply sitting in the quiet to reflect. I’d love to be somewhere peaceful, like a cozy cabin or a retreat in nature, where I can feel grounded and inspired.

Spending quality time with my kids would be a must—laughing, creating memories, and enjoying the magic of the season through their eyes. But I’d also make sure to carve out time for myself. Whether it’s a walk in the woods, curling up with a good book by the fire, or dreaming up new ideas for my business, I’d want moments that are just for me.

And of course, I’d want to give back in some way—whether it’s sharing thoughtful gifts like my handmade products or hosting a small, intimate gathering with people I care about. For me, a perfect holiday isn’t about rushing or perfection—it’s about feeling joyful, aligned, and at peace.
